Developed by Ovidiu Pop, a creator known for accessible mobile simulations, Truck Simulator USA: Classic delivers a straightforward yet satisfying take on the long-haul driving genre. This game falls squarely into the casual simulation category, prioritizing a relaxed, pick-up-and-play experience over hardcore realism. The presentation is functional, with simple 3D graphics depicting American highways and cityscapes. While not visually stunning, the art style is clear and serves its purpose, allowing for easy navigation. The sound design is equally minimal, featuring the constant hum of a diesel engine, basic traffic noise, and the occasional blare of a horn, which adequately sets the mood without being immersive.
The game forgoes a complex narrative, instead offering a pure gameplay loop centered on the life of an independent trucker. Your journey begins with a single vehicle, taking on cargo delivery contracts to earn money, upgrade your rig, and eventually expand your fleet. The core appeal lies in the simple pleasure of cruising from state to state, watching your virtual business grow. The driving physics are arcade-style, making it easy for newcomers to handle large trucks, though veterans of more detailed sims might find the handling a bit simplistic. A notable technique for maximizing profits is to carefully plan routes to minimize empty return trips and to reinvest earnings into truck upgrades early on, which increases your efficiency for longer, more lucrative hauls.
While it successfully captures the tranquil rhythm of the open road, the game does show its limitations. The world can feel somewhat empty and repetitive, with traffic AI that is basic and environments that lack detail. Mission variety is also limited, primarily revolving around point A to point B deliveries. However, as a casual time-passer, Truck Simulator USA: Classic achieves its goal. It provides a no-fuss, enjoyable simulation of trucking life that is perfect for short sessions, offering a sense of progression and relaxation without demanding intense focus or complex management.
How to play?
🚚 Step 1: Start Your Engine. Begin by selecting 'New Game' from the main menu. You'll start with a basic truck and a small amount of cash. Take a moment to familiarize yourself with the simple controls using the on-screen buttons or tilt steering.
🗺️ Step 2: Grab a Job. Open the 'Jobs' menu located at the top of the screen. Here, you'll see a list of available cargo deliveries. Each job shows the pickup location, destination, distance, and payment. For your first run, select a short, local delivery to get a feel for the driving.
🎯 Step 3: Hit the Road. After accepting a job, a GPS route will appear on your mini-map. Follow the highlighted path to the warehouse to pick up your trailer. Once attached, the GPS will update to guide you to the drop-off destination.
⛽ Step 4: Manage Your Rig. Keep an eye on your fuel gauge and the truck's damage indicator. You must periodically stop at gas stations (marked on the map) to refuel. If you crash, your damage will increase, reducing your final payment, so drive carefully.
💰 Step 5: Get Paid & Upgrade. Upon successful delivery, you'll receive your payment. Immediately head to the 'Garage' menu. Here, you can spend your earnings on critical upgrades for your current truck, like a better engine for more power or improved brakes, or save up to buy a new, more capable vehicle.
📈 Step 6: Expand Your Business. As your bank balance grows, consider purchasing additional trucks from the garage. You can then hire AI drivers in the 'Management' section to operate them, creating a passive income stream while you continue your own deliveries.
🏆 Step 7: Master the Map. The ultimate goal is to build a thriving trucking company. Complete jobs to unlock new states and longer routes. Experiment with different cargo types and strategically assign your hired drivers to maximize your profits per hour.
